Ani’s Journey with Mindfulness & Reiki

I earned a degree in European Media, Culture, and Politics and spent my twenties and thirties raising a family. During that time, I often turned to simple tools—like mindful breathing—to manage everyday life. I didn’t realise it then, but I was already practicing mindfulness in small, meaningful ways.

Training with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation deepened my understanding of these practices. I learned how powerful it can be to simply pause, breathe, and be present. These moments have become essential to my calm, clarity, and well-being.

Reiki has profoundly touched my life. It has reconnected me with nature and opened my heart to the beauty in everyday moments. I’ve learned to slow down, to notice, and to appreciate life as it is.

Today, my life is filled with gratitude and a deep sense of appreciation—for the little things, for healing, and for the present moment.

Reiki

Reiki is a well-known complementary healing method, often practiced as a hands-on technique. The word “Reiki” means “Universal Life Force.” It works holistically by balancing the body’s energy, emotions, and mind.
Reiki promotes healing by calming the mind and raising the body’s life-force energy or vibration. Since the body is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies, Reiki helps restore its natural flow.

Clinical research worldwide, including in the UK, shows Reiki can reduce blood pressure, stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Reiki complements traditional medicine—it supports healing without replacing or interfering with medical treatment.
